Who are the top people at other hospitals for ablation ? My health cover does not allow me to go to Barts or London Bridge ...so that would appear to rule him out - any other outstanding names ?

Dr David Jones at Harefield did mine, the hospital is not great but I was very impressed with him and I believe they have very modern equipment.

When I finally get there I am due to see Dr David Jones at Harefield. I was very impressed with him in my first, long consultation. He has a real passion for this and told me he does 250 ablations per year. I think I am going to be in safe hands with him.

Whilst I have yet to take the plunge and progress with an ablation, I've been very impressed with Professor Mark O'Neill. He is at St Thomas's.

Mark O'Neill did mine (first and only) in November 2013 and still in NSR. He was a guest speaker at AFA patient day a couple of years ago. I was impressed by his attitude. He explained my options at the first meeting, allowed me to choose - meds route or ablation. I chose ablation so although I was on bisoprolol whilst I waited I have taken no other meds apart from anticoagulants.

Good luck 🍀

Professor Jaswinder Gill and Professor Ranaldi also at Guys and St Thomas's. Prof Gill was my consultant and Prof Ranaldi performed my ablation. Both excellent.

Haven't they discharged you yet? I stayed overnight as well but worst part of the whole experience was the chaos in discharging patients on a weekend
