Dr Sinatra writes in his news letter. Ginger root, powder or any variant of the rhizome possesses multiple biological activities that benefit health. Anti oxidant, anti inflammatory, anti microbial, anti cancer, cardio and respiratory protective, anti obesity, anti nauseous, anti diabetic. And my words - cheap as chips.

Eat, it chew it, mix it in food, drink it. I take it twice a day. Morning chopped in two glasses of water. At night mixed with turmeric. Have done for a long time. Its difficult to say does it work, for I don't know what I would be like if I didn't take it. I feel it does have positive benefits. As it it is not known to have any side effects it is worth taking. Good for travel sickness as well.

+1 for the travel sickness. When I owned my own small sailing boat I used candied ginger mixed with nuts and dried fruit to nourish me and quell sea sickness to keep me alert on watch.

These days I occasionally have candied ginger chopped up together with banana on my breakfast porridge. Just three or four pieces are sufficient, as they're quite strong.

Just a note: Lemon and ginger tea bags use lemongrass, not actual lemons. The ginger is dried ground ginger though, which is not so nice.

I too love ginger especially as I suffer with acid reflux as well, but you have to be careful as it can interact with coagulants and slow the clotting process down even further.

Pharmacist told me the odd amount in cooking and herbal tea bags are fine but to be careful with ginger root, crystallised ginger etc, what you would call pure ginger. Mainly in amounts and regularity.

Thanks. I wasnt aware of the anti coagulation effect. I do have to take Apixaban. But have not noticed any side effects like excessive bruising or really anything. But will keep a watch. Thanks.

I take ginger daily and am on Apixaban - taken as a food I don’t believe it is a cause for concern but I am always cautious about taking OTC capsule supplements.

yes I add about a 1" piece of ginger daily when I juice my veggies/apple
