Of course. It is quite normal even without afib, for instance just right after a heavy exercise.
Hi yes, ever since my ablation in august last year. prior to this it was not noticed. I was on rivaroxiban for 3 months before and after ablation.
For a few months after the ablationi had terrible cough, the heart beat in ears thing and fatigue in thigh muscles when walking up hill and it didn't have to be steep. EP not sure, said halving flec, diltiazem and stopping rivaroxiban might help at the 8 week review. Halving the meds seemed to help and then stopping them helped lessen all 3 things also but still now my heart beats in my ears at very little exertion. I am back exercising and training for my step team and it happens a lot but I don't have AF so I accept it and get on with it
yes i get it, don't need to check pulse just count beats in ears, i think you get this on most of the tablets before Ablation, and more after Ablation, should be better when get off some of the meds.
Good luck
Yes I've had it when my BP is elevated. It's not pleasant, used to really hear it at night.. After going on BP pills its completely stopped. 🤔
Eliquis has nothing to do with it, always heard heartbeat in ear with AFib - funny thing was waking up from ablation I thought I was dead - because I couldn't hear my heartbeat! Took me several days to get used to that as I could t remember ever not hearing it and thought it was normal so had never questioned it.
Yes it is known as pulsatile tinitus. Annoying isn't it?
I don't take Eliquis, but have AF and yes sometimes I hear my heartbeat in my ears. It's odd because I hadn't had it for ages, possibly years. Then I read your post yesterday and lo and behold I had it when I woke up this morning.
Jean
Yes I get it especially at night when it is quiet. Taking cocodomol makes it worse!!!
It's always been there, you're just aware of it now
Hi, I have pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear constantly. When it first started it bothered me immensely. Went to GP had brain scan, apparently it can be caused by something pretty rare, and had ear nose and throat check and an ultra sound of carotid arteries all clear. Just have to live with it, anxiety doesn't help it. Not related for me to blood pressure, exercise. I was on warfarin when first noticed it, now on Apixaban, no difference at all. I take anti hypertensive tablets and thyroxine, nothing else and have had these tablets before tinnitus. Distraction helps ie music reading TV. Annoying but livable with.. At least I know I'm alive! Best wishes Kath.
I have dreadful tinnitus in my head, would like to think it's meds, but it's damage caused from TIA.
Could this be related to vagus nerve. I remember seeing recently something saying vagus nerve can be manipulated from the ear??
My very elderly neighbour phoned one morning to complain that my husband and I were playing loud rock music at all hours of the night! I do like rock music but we were asleep all night every night. When I protested she said she could hear the beat through her pillow. When I heard about pulsatile tinnitus I realised what was happening! I was told my tinnitus (jangly hissing noises) was caused by mild deafness and hearing aids helped a lot.
I had this many years ago - long before I had AFib. I imagined carotid aneurysm and all sorts, but it turned out to be ear wax!
I hear my heartbeat in my right ear on and off - so annoying - at least - as someone else says, it means we are alive! But it keeps me awake at night! Also, I can't sleep on my left side as I feel my heart pounding away!!
Yes, it's most annoying! However, my Dr. Increased my medication when I told him. It's not quite so loud now.
I have had a pulse beating in my ear for the last 50 years. I started taking 450mg daily of magnesium citrate and it disappeared!
Yes I get this sometimes but only when I am lying down. Strangely I don't find it annoying. I find it quite relaxing as it almost causes a 'whooshing' feeling in my ear along with the sound. But every other arrhythmia symptom annoys me. A LOT.!!!!
I have persistent Afib and have had pulsatile tinnitus. Even when in sinus rhythm I would hear my heartbeat in the left ear, particularly when I put my head on the pillow at bed time. It was quite reassuring but also alerted me when I slipped into Afib. Odd thing is, I had an internal cardioversion several months ago. Was in rhythm for five weeks but then went back into Afib. Unlike previous bouts of Afib I am almost symptom free and my pulsatile tinnitus has disappeared. Don't know what this means for me or my heart but I have an appointment with my cardiologist this week. Suspect he won't be able to tell me as from what I can see there are almost as many different types of Afib as there are patients.
