OK folks time to start easing down in the run up to dinner tomorrow.
The turkey is prepped and ready. The stuffings which we made a couple of weeks ago are thawing out and we have written out the agenda/time sheet for cooking and preparing veg etc. Sam , my wife is a carer so think of her at 6.30 in the morning as she sets off to work to get all her old ladies up and dressed! I shall have a lazy morning before inserting turkey in Aga and peeling vegetables etc and hopefully Sam will have no dramas and be home for dinner about 3 pm. The boys are staying at their girlfriend's houses tonight., I guess to get their Christmas presents , the ones Santa can't deliver. ho ho ho..but should be home late morning to lay the table. Who am I kidding?
So tonight it is take away Indian, (punjabi railway lamb curry for me) and maybe some stilton and port for supper in front of the log stove.
To all my friends near and far I wish you happiness this Christmas and a relief to any suffering. Peace to the world.

I almost wish I wasn't sitting on the balcony, watching the sunset from a cloudless blue sky, donning a light jumper now that the temperature is dipping from the 68 degrees we had earlier.....have a fabulous time with your family tomorrow and give Sam a big hug when she gets home. It's easy to forget that so many cannot just stop working because it's Christmas
Well the turkey is in and all the veg prepped so just opening some bubbly whilst watching an old Dr Who. In ten minutes I need to move the bird down into the baking oven and take the foil off, then in 1/4 hour I can roast the chipolatas and then put them in the simmering oven to keep warm. Table is laid including crackers. Dare not put the veg on till Sam gets home in case she is delayed but on track for a 3pm service. One son is home so half the family here now.
