Pre ablation Cardiac ct scan Friday.........

8 a.m in Bournemouth .To eat or not to eat that is the question ...........the form only seems to mention caffeine, no alcohol ,tea, coffee( gave up normal a long time ago )even decaf , no food containing chocolate. What I do know is that having to be up at 6 a.m , then the drive to Bournemouth from Weymouth will make my af even worse, so add no food to the equation and it'll be flipping about all over the place !!! If i don't get answer here then I will of course phone them ............

Well I wouldn't know, but if the instructions state no caffeine, chocolate etc etc, but don't mention food/drink generally, then I'd guess you're OK eating, otherwise they'd have just said no food or drink, as they do with some blood tests.

But I'd phone them up to be sure. Can't go wrong then.

Hi Roony, I recall being told not to eat or drink anything, other water after 10pm the night before and to stop all medication too, including apixaban after the morning dose also the day before the procedure. Best to ring though.....good luck and let us know how you get on....John

Hi Rooney I had the same instructions from Bournmouth best to give them a ring ,had my second Ablation in three years being four weeks ago which is still doing OK.All I can say is Bournmouth have a first class team and clinic ,staff first class .Wish you luck with your future treatment.

Thanks lofty77 , the form just seems to mention anything caffeine based that I suppose would stimulate the heart, and as they don't knock you out for it then food must be OK, is it just a normal ct scan ?? I asked if I could have the ct scan done in Dorchester but they said that ct scanner is different and not linked to their computers ..... how long did you have to wait before the actual ablation after the ct scan ?? Thank you for the luck part,, 50/50 success rate is better than nothing ..........

Sorry about the delay in answering ,it was three weeks after my scan but that was due to a cancer.

Thank you for taking the time to reply , I did think it might be reasonably soon after , as things might change..... fingers crossed for a January date for me and that your last one holds for a long time .
