Since 2nd ablation

I have been waking in the night with quite vivid dreams that seem to raise my heart rate for a while like my adrenalin is stimulated. Wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Yep sound familiar Brenda. I actually thought that the dreams were my brain giving reason for the raised heart rate rather than how you think. Who knows? They mostly went after a while.

Hi Brenda - I'm wondering whether any of your medication has been changed since your ablation? I find when I take tablets for my stomach like Ranitadine, I get very vivid dreams. Also get them if I eat anything like pizza or chinese food.

Yes they have upped my omeprozole to 40mg instead of 20 for 6 weeks post ablation. I wonder if that may have something to do with it

I bet that extra dose is the cause.

Yes I get much more vivid dreams more than used to, even more so in the last year. In the last year my medicines haven't changed in the last year except that the Bisoprolol had dropped from 7.5mg to 5mg do if it was that then if should be less so.

I have recently (last 3 or 4 months particularly) woken up suddenly with a big jolt. Why I don't know.

Just might be an indication of some kind of sleep apnea.

It took me about 3-5 days to get back to normal after my last ablation. I assume the drugs they gave me were still in the system. In my case they made me feel about 20 years younger and full of energy.

I'd liked to have gone back for more ๐Ÿ˜€.

Wish they had that effect on me, just made me depressed and tired. ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜ด

Hi Brenda, that happens to me now and again. It used to worry me but I now have a caffeine free drink before bedtime and that seems to help. Not watching anything that stimulates me or scares me too much late at night does seem to be better. As I had my ablation in 2008 and haven't taken meds apart from PIP and Plendil daily I can't blame it on meds.

I did find eye drops for glaucoma did have this effect so stopped them and had an op.

Best wishes,

Jackie

I used to get fairly disturbing dreams immediately after falling asleep and when I did my research I found it came hand in hand with af and hypoxia it causes. Since my af has come under control more I still get vivid dreams but not the nightmares. Just one nights sleep without a dream would be fantastic
