Not directly linked to AF but bear with me as I think this link will be of interest to many here, both the farmers amongst us and those who watch what they eat. It is a bit scary and although relates more to the US, we can all take warning......

Gut Health, antibiotics and herbicides
Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for posting this - interesting talk.
Yes, interesting. The UK governments head vet was on the radio some time back and she said that most antibiotics (in the UK) were used in fish farming. I think she said 85-90% or a number of that order. That came as a surprise and we stopped eating farmed fish. Guess the rest is chickens and pigs, anything where there's a lot of stock in close proximity, and especially if indoors.
As also said in the media recently, we should be asking why is food so cheap e.g. Salmon, not why is it so expensive. I don't wish to sound like some alarmist but the small bit I know suggests the food scandal coming up is going to dwarf tobacco, drugs etc.
Food is medicine, eat clean food. I appreciate I'm preaching to the converted with you Koll but hope to help others.
Thank you CDreamer, most interesting.
Actually, reading one post on here I'd like to inject a drop of humour ..... our cat .... will not eat Salmon. We have bought ' Salmon, (supposedly} fresh' and she walks away. BUT, give her some Tuna out of any old supermarket tin and she devours it like the end of the world is nigh !
She is quite discerning, she is a rescue cat and when we got her the vet estimated her to have been around 13 years of age ... we've now had her 7 years. Actually, at the animal charity where we got her from - she chose us !!!

LOl. My cat Casper, was exactly the same! Obviously we should test our food on our cats as they know more than we do. Casper was also a rescue cat - my friend rescued his mum and his siblings from a ditch on Christmas Eve, all wet and very cold. He was the only male and not wanted - so she invited me for coffee. Casper jumped into my bag and WAS coming home with me!
He was a bruiser of a cat and I used to worry about him as he got into more than 1 or 2 fights. A big black cat from 2 doors down Arthur used to lay in wait for him just outside the cat flap so he was always very cautious exiting and there was black and white fur littering the porch often, turned out they were best mates and they 'called' for each other to go on 'patrol'. They were the cat thugs of the Neighborhood, entering other cat flaps and eating their owners' food, especially my next door Neighbor whose cats I fed when they went on holiday, Declining my offerings, he would enter next door, eat their food and then sit in the front window licking his face and ignoring my entreaties to get the hell out of there before he got caught - my neighbor was not a fan!
