This is mainly confirming what has been known by Nutritionists and Lifestyle Doctors for many years but good to know that this approach is now being backed by hard science.
FYI The testing programme is still only available in US.
A second link to a Podcast by Dr Chatterjee - Why Disease isn’t inevitable and as it’s 2 GP’s talking to each other about the lack of Lifestyle Knowhow in GP’s, many who become frustrated with their GPs may gain an insight into their workload and frustrations with the system but also gain hope that the word about Lifestyle and monitoring early to catch early markers of possible future diseases developing - as per Dr Day’s suggestions in his book - is useful.
Looks interesting CD I will sit and look at this later on my PC .Thanks for sharing ,I've always considered nutrition to be key to health. We are what we eat !
Thank you for this info. I delved around on the Zoe link and have signed up for a test kit to get a diet tailored to me for my microbiome. Not sure how this will be done but I am on the list.
No not yet unfortunately but you can sign up for 3 new trials on Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s and Diabetes? Just what the Dr’s were saying about intervening early. So agree with you later comment - so many thing ‘if only I’d known’.
Thanks. Saw this when I reread your post. Have signed up for heart but hadn't thought of Alzheimers. I'm so grateful for the Zoe research. If we could have real political will behind it it could change our well being landscape. Plus it's my go to for reliable info about you-know-what.
The podcast with Chattarjee and Panja is well worth a listen. I need to go on YouTube and make a note of the 8 check points they mention early on. YouTube gives you a transcript as well as the video.
It's the catching of early markets that we need to get rolling out. So many things 'if only I'd known'. And patient education. Both would save millions of £ and lead to happier lives.
