Hi atrial fib

Two reasons, firstly "blood thinners" is a misnomer, none of them thin the blood they simply anti-coagulate the blood

Aspirin is not an anti-coagulant, it's an anti-platelet drug, which has its uses in the control of especially free calcium in the heart, and for peopl,e without AF and the need for a proper anti-coagulant can be part of your drug therapy.

But if you have AF then you have a 5 times greater risk of stroke, and NICE have been very firm that aspirin should not be used to treat AF, and that a proper anti-coagulant must be prescribed.

Anti-coagulants and aspririn do not do the same thing, and neither do they have the same effect.

Be well

Nope warfarin is even cheaper than aspirin...

Not the NOACs of course.

They just had to break off a large study on the NOACs, so maybe Aspirin will be ranked higher again soon even for AFIB.
