Stopping Amiodarone

Went to see cardiologist yesterday first time after 3rd CV in late Feb 16. Confirmed now back in nsr and told me to stop taking amiodaone from today which I have been taking since Xmas Day. Has anyone experienced any side effects whilst coming off it?

I was on Amiodarone from last March till the end of November, a month after my ablation. I have had no problems coming off it or indeed while on it. My INR levels have been gradually reducing in the last 6 weeks or so so my warfarin dose is gradually being built back up.

Thanks Alil I did not experience any side effects whilst on it apart had some vivid nightmares!!

It was a few years ago that I came off Amiodarone. I don't recall having any side effects, other than the relief of not having to take it anymore.

No only benefits after twice stopping it ... no more hand tremors, eye floaters or loss of equilibrium.

No problems coming off of Amiodarone but remember that it stays in your system for 6 months after stopping.
