My local ae dept and cardiac ward my home from home these days. Three episodes of af since Friday when I came in. Didnt have any symptoms on Friday but heart rate was booming away when ecg took. So admitted Friday and still here. An episode early hours Monday and one this morning. Awaiting to go to the Freeman Newcastle on request of my cardiologist over there. So its a wait for a bed. And not sure what plan is over there but ill sit it out x

Tough luck. Are you having chest pain with your AF? Unusual to be kept in once they have established it is only AF.

Ive not had chest pain Bob but ive also got dilated cardiomyopathy and couple other heart related problems thats why they kept me in. Plus with getting moved to another hospital im just waiting for a bed to become available x

Ah not simple old AF then. Sorry for you. Be well soon.

I was sent to hospital as well. They kept me in, tried various drugs on me till they found one that worked great, then back home, so hope you get similar :-)

It took about 8 days, but half of that was just because it was Christmas and they were all on holiday.

Sorry to her of the complications is anything straightforward?

on both occasions I took myself to hospital they kept in me in for a few days and all wired up an nowhere to go. Tedious but comforting that you are being watched. I presumed they liked to keep you under observation until they think things can settle down for you .

Hope it all works out - good luck
