10 months and back again....

Hi Everyone, to write this post is so disappointing as I am now back in AF again after 10 clear months. My Husband took me to A&E as I was so unwell Sunday morning. The team at A&E were brilliant, they increased my medication and monitored me until they were happy for me to go home. I am so pleased to say my Dr has now got a date from Derriford for my ablation at the end of the year. I have been on the urgent list since since March. I have had AF since June 2015, it is so debilitating being in AF. Since not having an attack for so long I was having mixed feelings about the Ablation but since having this last attack I know I need to have the Ablation done as this AF is not going to away, which I have read many times on the forum. I wish you all well and thanks for reading....

Good luck with the ablation, mine worked brilliantly and got my life back, so fingers crossed.

Natures way of telling you that you made the right choice I think. Good luck for a speedy ablation date.

Good luck hope you get early appointment.

I too have an appointed at Derriford Hospital early December 2016. My A. Flutter started in June 2015. Had an ablation in April 2016 where after I then had A. Fib. In August 2016 I had another ablation, privately, because it became a daily re-occurrence. I was put on Amiodarone before and after. If I waited it would probably have taken about 8 months or more to have an ablation done at Derriford.

Now come off Amiodarone for just over a week. So I don't know if it has worked but to have quality of life is just sheer bliss. One cannot take it for granted. So in my view you should go for it. You only can gain not lose. Good luck. I hear that Derriford is one of the best heart hospitals.

Many thanks to you all for your reassuring replies, my date for ablation is friday December 30th. Reading members post about AF and Ablation has give me a greater understanding of this debilitating illness, it is such a comfort and I thank you all.....Caroline xx
