Thank you bigleg..its been a long struggle so let's hope this will be successful....n then have a Chinese lol

Surely, someone, somewhere must do Chinese food without MSG !!! I've seen plenty cooked on the tele and it was just normal ingredients.

Yes they do if u ask them to do it but you have to make sure they understand that it strictly must be msg free....and it tastes disgusting without so I don't bother now

Yes you got to make very sure that they understand the msg rule..there's one place in Dagenham heathway n the woman there knows her stuff n tells me wat I can have lol..that's if u live in this area

Yes you have not only have to ask them what they put in making their own but also the sauces they buy in!!! My local Chinese takeaway claims to provide dished MSG free and usually they are very good, though as pointed out cross contamination can be an issue.

I have learnt to restrict what I get and let others take the crappy things!!! Restrict myself to beef chop suey, spare ribs. Chicken in lemon sauce, Peking duck, spare ribs and one or two others. However on New Year's Day they gave me beef chow mien instead of the chop suey and boy did I suffer that night and the next day even though I am in persistent AF!!!

Sharryn - even after your procedure I would avoid things that are triggers like most of the Chinese food because it will encourage break throughs and also may sill create the signals even though the results won't be felt like now because of teh areas that have been ablated.

Hiya Peter..nice to chat again...you ate all that Chinese lol I would been in resus....I love ribs....but can't eat any off it lol...yes i finally got my date....no I won't eat Chinese every Friday nite like I used to before svt life...every couple months..but found a great msg free Indian..I only have that every few months to..I'm going to stick to the msg free diet now tbh but have treat every now n then Peter xx...

Yes good to chat again. When I was driving on Friday for some reason I thought about you and wondered how you were getting on and thought that I must send you a private message.

I don't have Chinese that often (about every 3 or 4 months) and I don't have all of those but usually do have the beef chop chow mien. Given the choice I opt for a Thai.

Ther used to be a really good Chinese in brick lane (I know BL is more renowned for Indian and a really good Thai and also Chinese in Romford.

G'day Sharryn45,

I control my paroxysmal AF with a combination of meds, changed lifestyle and changed diet for some 6 years now. So, diet and the analysis of foods which are a trigger has been a big part of my life for all that time. Chinese food has for me been a problem however, I can eat some Chinese foods without a problem not much of a meal I must admit but it satisfies my craving. Usually bean sprouts, pork and chicken or some such similar offering. Don't do Chinese regularly, just a treat once in a while. I am on 5 mg of Bisoprolol + other little joys too.

Good luck.

John

My local Chinese doesn't use MSG (at least that's what's said locally, but haven't checked) not had any problems even after a big and variable take out

Chinese food is the biggest msg content and every Chinese use that n you would deffo see the difference if they never used it....I wait till I've had my ablation now till I eat it again

I always ask them to cook it without MSG, wouldn't take the risk.
