Stargazer, I didn't write the post by I get current like feelings in my torso, legs and feet. These feelings increase with intensity when I have AFib. I've tried to get an answer from Dr about this but they just look at me like I'm nuts! I'm going to try acupuncture next to find relief. I believe there's a connection somewhere in my nervous system that is causing this constant current and AFib. Let's continue this discussion and maybe someone will give us some jope to finding an answer, Gracey
Hi Stargazer, is wasn't me either but I too get a fuzzy/buzzy feeling in my chest area and upwards to my throat. It would show up on my Alivecor, usually gives a report of 'unreadable' but not felt as a difference in my pulse.
I get that sometimes, absolutely no idea what it is but I'm glad it's not just me! I would be interested to hear if acupuncture helps...
Yes, I am going to join the party. I get it too. My issue is I get it just under the left breastbone, and the first time, a few months back, I thought-here we go.......I actually get it frequently, same place, and it is like a small mobile phone, vibrating under my skin. Due to the area, I tied it up immediately with my fluttering atria, but that may be co-incidence.
Hi Stargazer,
I get little fizzy jolts that whizz across my chest and have wondered why. They started after the surgery that started my PAF, and were worse at that time and would travel down one or other side of my torso as far as the groin. I'm noticing them less now but am interested in what's going on so thanks for starting this discussion!
Jane
Hi Stargazer. I have had strange feelings like you have described for years. I usually have them if I wake up in the middle of the night. I have no idea what causes them but interested to know that other people have a similar feelings to mine. If anyone can shed some light onto what it may be I would be pleased to know.
My best wishes to fellow sufferers.
Carole
I get this in my chest....used to get it in my head. I've been told it's hormonal......if you look at the big list of menopause symptoms, internal tremor is listed. A lot of women on my menopause boards deal with this. Of course, this doesn't apply to the males here, but if you are female, it's a possibility. something to think about.
Funny you should bring this up. I'm not experiencing such generalized buzzing, but just following ablation procedure on Monday had that same sensation at the groin wound site from the ablation. It would come and go in short bursts and has already stopped, but makes me wonder if it has to do with healing and blood flow, etc. Probably not the same cause at all, but would be quite alarming spread over any larger area!
Thanks for replies - interested others have it too. I've been trying to ignore it so i'm not panicking about every little feeling that might be something to panic about. It was a comment that i might have atrial flutter that stopped me ignoring it,(the vibrations) then i saw a post mentioning it. My quivery shiveries do happen round my heart, but also in other places in the trunk. Had a cautious google search, thought this was quite interesting:

I must see if it links to movement, i notice it most when inactive but it does speed up after movement - after night-time loo trips for instance - but it could just be i notice it more at those times. Don't want to over-concentrate on it as it seems to grow and develop, but i thought it might be a symptom of flutter to add to my ep file of questions to ask/symptoms to report. And of course i am reducing medication under my own steam and don't want to ignore anything that could be important. Hate all this micro-hyper-attention to detail, but want my heart to be ok!
Let me know any thoughts on that pv comment if you have any. Happy heart day tomorrow and forever...
I get this sensation when waking in the morning. It feels like someone has popped some sort of evervescent tablet, like an alka seltzer, in my solar plexus and then the fizzy bubbles rise up through the centre of my chest. They are accompanied by a slight numbing sensation. However as I come fully around the feeling disappears. Although intimidating when it first appeared a couple of years ago - you're wondering whats this leading to - it hasn't progressed into anything (as yet) and it's not an unpleasant feeling. Just strange.
Good way to think of it - a fizzy vitamin tablet to boost the immune system and pep up the day...i'll try that if i feel worried!
Hmmm..well since being on these tablets i look like i'm just about to give birth, i am hoping it is just bloating that will resolve itself when i'm off the tablets. It can't be weight gain surely... why can't these drugs make you feel happy and relaxed instead! Humming is good, any breath control or exercise should be. I went to a yoga class yesterday morning and thought i'd rest for a wee while. Woke up in the dark - I'd slept for five and a half hours, peacefully, no tossing or turning. Still got the buzzing right enough, just want to put my mind at rest about it and ignore it, i had bang your head against the wall tinnitus for years, and i barely notice it now, so i have faith it can be done. Seems such a small thing. Maybe it's You-know-who on the Internal phoneline trying to get through to our hearts wondering why we don't pick up haha. (I am on a big humour-is-health trip at the moment!!)
Hi Happyjo, your reply sounds like mine and I am starting to think a lot of my annoyances are vagus nerve but so far no one in the health industry seems educated about it. Last night I read 32 ways to stimulate your vagus and it said sleeping on back is the worst position for vagus and that's how I've been sleeping since diagnosed with PAF. Article said to sleep on right side. I rolled onto left side and there was my tiny little hum between sternum down to belly button. Listened in for a couple of minutes then rolled onto right side n it stopped. Back to left n there it was. Back to right n gone again. Feel like I need to work out vagus connection on my own. Anyone know of dr with vagus nerve interest in Australia?
