Successful Electric Cardioversion
I've had a total of 15 electrical cardioversions over 23 years and have had great relief from all. They have lasted perhaps on average 12 months . I've had two which have kept me in sinus rhythm with the help of Disopyramide for 4+ years . latterly I'm not lasting as long as a year with possibly a 4th ablation in the offing now.
For a large number the effects do not last very long. You won't know until you try it! I think alot depends on whether you will be reinforced with an anti arrhythmic drug straight afterwards.
They are of course not a cure ( what is ?!) but will give you time before the next course of action , be it continuing drug treatment or ablation .
Good luck!

I am guessing success means different things to each of us.
For me the answer is yes. Felt great straight after, got me back to sinus at about 50 beats . First DC cardioversion barely lasted a fortnight though. I had no worries when offered a second late October. Got a touch of the ectopics but they reckon a dose of the bisoprolol keeps that from sending things out of control. With a low resting heart rate was a bit nervous about going back on the blockers, but things seem fine
hope that helps
