Just had a bloodshot eye for no reason last night, slept on it, no worse this morning... Might it be Rivaroxaban?

Sudden bloodshot eye
Funnily enough , so have I but I'm on warfarin !
Hmmmm....😄😄
Hi there -
Sorry, I don't take Rivaroxaban, so don't know about any possible side effects. My thought, however, based on my own experience of separate eye problems is that it could be just to do with the eye. I had a number of instances of very red eyes over several years before I was diagnosed with high eye pressure. In retrospect, I think they may have been caused by natural spikes in pressure.
A good optician would be able to advise better and do a test, which they should do when you have a general eye test. The 'puff of air' test is rough and ready but will give an indication. A much better test is to have drops and they use a device that gently touches the eye. If your result is close to 20, then you could be going into higher territory at different times, or when tired/stressed.
Of course, I am sure there must be loads of other eye conditions that could be the problem as well. Whatever the cause, hope you get it sorted.
Best wishes
Alan
Definitely go to the optician.
I too get them,I am on warfarin, they always look worse than what they are.
On Apixaban, I also get them. GP doesn't seem stressed so I just ignore. Always the left eye.
Yes. I get them too. About 4 times a year. Either eye but not both at the same time so far. I m on warfarin
So have I but take aspirin. Mine is probably due to mighty sneezes with my cold.
Thanks guys for all your comments, I'm off to optician tomorrow, but it is better today 😊
Some years ago that happened to me - I am on warfarin
I am also on Xarelto and have had a couple. Went to optician first time and he said it was undoubtedly due to the anticoags...
I am not so sure though because the new NOACs don't thin the blood - they prevent clotting - maybe he was thinking about warfarin....
Anyway if in doubt go to an optician - he did pressure tests for glaucoma which is the main underlying cause other than straining or dirt in the eye that one rubs instinctively.
