No sooner do I get the Doc to approve a NOAC switch...Warfarin to Rivaroxaban...than this article comes out on Medscape. Good info and I guess I should be thankful. I was especially interested in it because the dose is 1x daily. Oh well..........

Sometimes too much information is not helpful.
Rivaroxaban (Xarelto) has a lot of fairly common side effects having to do with bleeding. I won't touch the stuff for that reason. Apixaban (Eliquis) is expensive but it doesn't bother me so I stay on it.
Is there a reason your doc didn't recommend Eliquis?
As for taking riv, let your affinity for risk be your guide.
No reason ..just that I asked for Rivaroxaban because the dose is 1x each day. I'll check in to Eliquis. Thanks.....
