Good morning,
Has anyone taken Amitriptyline or Gabapentin for nerve pain (leg pain due to spinal stenosis ) while taking
Bisoprolol for AF? Did it help and did you have any side effects?

While Storm Cloud, yes I am on Amitriptyline, saw doc oh must be nigh enough 2 years ago with severe 'shin strips' in both legs. Scan, X Ray, ultra sound have shown nothing, but yes I definately knew about the pain! So doc prescribe me 10mg X 2 daily. Normally take them of an evening, by golly certainly make me have a wonderful, pain free night in bed. Sometimes 10am before I make a move.
Many people get great relief from gabapentin, but I have tried it 3 times, too many side effects. Mostly recent trial = very low blood pressure 67/48. I take diltiazem and Xarelto and a bunch of meds for other issues.
Hello - I've taken amitriptyline for some time now, having had it prescribed before any sign of AF - I have arthritic pain and it also helps me to sleep. The Doctor is happy for me to continue taking it, I only take half a tablet which is a very low dose anyway and have never experienced any side effects. I understand it's been on the market for many years and so presumably has been well tested.
I am also taking Bisoprolol, Ramipril and Warfarin so that's the cocktail which keeps me going.
Good luck -
Ruuthmo
Thank you everyone who replied to my question re; nerve pain. think I might give amitriptyline a try although it is not recommended if you have AF.
