What does it mean when a reading has been taken on the Alivecor, but is says nothing - no normal, no af - no nothing!

It means the reading is wrong, or you did it wrong. Or the alivecor is faulty (unlikely). Follow instructions and try again.

Or you've got the old software??? But if you have been getting those messages, then it must be up to date.

Also, in Settings, you can turn the facilities on and off. Are they set to On?

If you record for less than 30 seconds it doesn't tell you it's normal.

Go to Settings and you will find a list of Alivecor detectors which you can enable or not as you choose. One is for 'Unable to classify' which you will only get if turned on (as long as the recording is more than 30 seconds). If not turned on you get nothing! It may be a poor recording or there may be a few funny blips in it.

Also increasing the time to 1 minute rather than the default 30 secs reduces chances of not getting a proper reading
