Holiday insurance

I am going away for Christmas (yah) to Lanzarotte and am looking for a holiday insurance that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. Last year it was a ridiculous price as once I declared my AF and suddenly the cost shoots up. Anyone managed to get a good deal? I would appreciate your help. Thanks

If you type in 'insurance' in the search box there are a number of discussions. I use 'insure and go' which is quite reasonable but it depends on what stage you are at on your af journey. Hope you have a good holiday.

I've found insure and go to be the best but read the small print as some 'circulatory' conditions are better explained there. I've not used them since being in AF but I did get them to exclude my small aortic aneurysm from my annual policy where other companies wanted to bounce the premium or even not insure me.

i use money supermarket.com and take the cheapest option

There was a stand at the conference this year, give them a try

payingtoomuch.com/insurance...

They gave me a good quote on the day

Be well

We're going to lanzarote on Sunday! I got reasonable insurance through Stay Sure, and I have type 2 diabetes as well. Good luck. JanR 😎

I got one from STAY sure for Lanzarote couple weeks ago and was £88 thought was good, as I have more than AF on list

We have to declare our condition and it is always going to cost more money.

However I found that Staysure were fair and would recommend them. Enjoy Lanzarote.

I got a years cover with world first. I declared high bp AF and pacemaker. Paid 180 pounds. Im off for my third trip this year on Tuesday. Have a good one. Barry

Used Staysure for a cruise earlier this year and thought they were very reasonable. Have a great holiday!

Try Staysure - I have an annual insurance with them at the moment & they accepted my AF and didn't charge me an 'arm & a leg'. Enjoy your holiday.

Best wishes Aly

I was very happy with my AA insurance, AF disclosed and covered. £450 for 5 months away, including USA. Sounds a lot, but most policies cover a max on 31 days for any one trip. Fortunately I didn't have the opportunity to test it out!

I've used All Clear Platinum a couple of times. They seem reasonable, although, thankfully, I haven't had to claim, so can't comment on that. I declare AF, and my husband has high bp and benign prostate problem, and there's no problem getting a policy. Enjoy your holiday - we're going on a Canary Island cruise in November!!

I've used insurancechoice.co.uk a couple of times from a recommendation on the AFA website.

They've always been knowledgeable about AF and don't charge extortionate prices

couldn't edit my post above but atrialfibrillation.org.uk/p... has good info for travelling with AF

Wow , I must look at mine , 400 pa worldwide but I've had a stroke . It was 300 the year before and to go up by 100 is just ridiculous , I could be looking at 500 next year ! Don't use first assist , I'm still fighting a claim I made 2 years ago , that's the problem , you don't know how good they are till you make a claim ! Good luck

hi you can apply for EHIC CARD , that will help you abroad , do it before you go ,

You should always have the EHIC card but also get travel insurance in addition. There are times when it is much quicker to use EHIC rather than travel insurance.
