Ramipril

I have only been on Ramipril for three weeks and find I am needing to get up two/three times a night. Last night made the Guiness Book of Records - four times between midnight and 6 a.m. Goes anyone else have this reaction to Ramipril? I am only on 2.5 - together with Diltiazem.

Hi,

I was started on that earlier this year and developed a very irritating cough which lasted for weeks until my medication was changed to candestartan by my arrhythmia nurse.

Its worth asking if you can change,

Are you sure it isn't just the AF doing this? Excessive passing water is quite a common thing with AF due to an enzyme which the heart secretes which tells the body to get rid of salt.

I never knew that. I can go 4 to 6 times a night but I'm not on that drug though.

My husband takes ramapril and had the same problem which is so unlike him normally. He does not have af by the way he takes them for other issues.

The gp said simple, it does its job for you just take it in the morning instead. Simples, job done and no more nightly loo trips.

Hopr this helps.

Thank you all for your comments. Always nice to know I am not unusual just finding it inconvenient. I take my ramipril at 7 each morning and the bathroom visits last 24 hours so are a nuisance.
