Yes Bridget , perfectly normal. You will feel some ache round your heart and between your shoulder blades for a day or two . Nothing bad, just normal You MUST rest a lot now and do not be tempted to overdo things. My Arrhythmia nurse said do nothing for the first week and not a lot more for the second. Remember also that you may well have some events during the next weeks or months as it takes at least three to six months for the heart to settle down.
Well done you. Road to recovery here you come.

Well done, I also had pain and aches for a day or so, nothing major but the paracetamol sorted it so don't be afraid to take it for a while but only paracetamol. Wishing you a good outcome.
Same for me. Ep described it as perecardites. It dissappeared within a couple of days.
I agree with bob about taking it easy. I went back to work within a week. Big mistake which i think lengthened the recovery
Well done you. I agree with the others that you may experience lots of odd things for a while but it seems they are all part of the healing process. Really use your arhythmia nurse for advice and reassurance. Mine was fantastic and invaluable. X
Glad to hear that all is well - or good enough. Hopefully discomfort won't last long and you'll be soon back in form and much improved. But take it easy, as everyone says.
Glad it went well for you Bridget, I also had a tight chest after for a while but it soon settled. Just take things slowly and enjoy this lovely sunny weather. Jackie
There you go Bridget! piece of cake wasn't it I had chest discomfort for a few days, but got better as each day went by. Get plenty of rest now.
Well done you! as everyone says aches and pains are all normal part of your recovery,
Hope this does the trick for you, stay positive and enjoy your deserved time to relax!

Well done you. It took about 5 days before I could lie flat on my back without any pain and a couple of weeks to be able to lie on my side. Fingers crossed for a life without AF.

I had my CA on Mon 30 Mar just over two weeks ago. Yes it is normal and as said above will get less as each day goes. Even now I still get some pain if I cough hard. The main tightness when inhaling was gone in a couple of days. I also had blinding headache in hospital and then most days again gradually subsiding. Monday this week was first day I had no headache but came back a bit Tuesday and yesterday (not whole day for both days) and then nothing today.
Main thing is to TAKE IT EASY for the next 2 and a half weeks.
