3 Months post cryo ablation

Hi all as i approach 12 weeks post op this Friday 10th Nov 17 i just wanted to look for some inspiration. I'm still getting bouts of arrhythmia every few days. I'm a lot better than i was a couple of months ago but I'm starting to worry that I'm not going to be in a better position post op than pre op. My heart does do different things now. It will threaten to go out of rhythm then immediately return to rhythm. Bouts are shorter as well. 2 or 3 hours rather than 7 or 8. So im taking the positives. Are there any of you out there that have continued to improve after the 3 month blanking period?

Yes in short. I would also make the point that what you are feeling may not be AF. Ectopics are a common result of ablation and without an ECG you may not know the difference. Many of us have clusters of ectopics from time to time which although annoying are not harmful. After my last (successful) ablation I was still getting these up to eight months post procedure. Even nine years down the line I may still have periods of these irritating little blighters if I eat too much late at night or run short of sleep through taking on far too many things than will fit into a normal 24 hour day.

Best advice is to stay well hydrated and avoid stress and alcohol and see what your EP says when you have your review.

Thanks BobD I'm definitely having more than just ectopics believe me :)

I got my curoablation in january 2017 and it was may 2017 before i saw a reduction of episodes. I was like you - when i came to 12 weeks was worried i was worse than before. Then another month saw a big difference.

Yes. It took 5 months for my various arrhythmias to stop. I am now 4 years post ablation and still AF free. Try to stay positive 🤞

Brilliant thanks for the reply sounds like i need to wait another couple of months. Thats great news as i definitely feel better im myself. Chest discomfort has gone. That lasted 8 weeks. I guess the body takes time to heal. 4 years with no symptoms what a fantastic result. Hope that keeps on going for you. Cheers.
