Has anyone had Kyphoplasty and did it work? I am hoping to see a spinal Consultant very soon to ask if I would be a suitable candidate for this procedure. I injured my lumbar vertebra just over a month ago and have never known such pain.
Many thanks and Angel blessings to all.

I work on Spinal ward as an Orthopaedic HCA - it's a fairly common procedure. It basically involves injecting cement into the right place to support the damaged disk. Have they said which level of the spine it is?
Hi Jedimaster, it is in my lumbar region but I am not sure which vertebra it is. Does that make a difference? It causes pain from my wait downwards. Everything else is normal, so no problems there.
Have just had to lay flat for two hours after AV node ablation, oh boy did that hurt getting up! Got home at 7.15.
It certainly was but I had no choice. My ablation was cancelled three times so there was no way I was going to cancel because of back pain. Osteoporosis is a pain, I have had eleven fractures in seven years. I did go to Exeter hospital in 2010 to see if they could do Kyphoplasty on any of my five Thoracic vertebra but he said they were too old. How long should a vertebra be left before this procedure can be carried out! I don't think Treliske does it, but I am going to make an appointment to see an orthopaedic Consultant and I will pay for the consultation to get to see him quickly.
Hi just following this thread....I had a pretty nasty accident almost five years ago and had a wedge compression fracture of L1 vertebrae. Is this procedure available on old injuries. I have severe chronic back pain and have ran out of things to try. 😞
