New to the forum so hi to all, I have regular bouts of AF and take warfarin having had a small stroke last year. Also take 5mg of Bisoprolol daily. My question is this.. Does anyone else have a Hiatal Hernia and if they do can this have an effect on their AF?.

AF & Hiatal Hernia
There have been people in the past who feel there is a connection but to the best of my knowledge there is no scientific evidence to link the two conditions.
Hi Blokey, just like to say I was also diagnosed with an hiatus hernia and AF in 2013,since had PM fitted and had an ablation last year which seems to have been successful but still struggling with the HH.
Hi, I have had a Hiatus Hernia for nearly 30 years, was diagnosed with AF about 6 weeks ago, I take esomeprazole to control the reflux from the hernia. x
I developed an hiatus hernia in December 2008, (I know the precise moment but will spare you the details) and my first AF episode followed a couple of weeks later. Yes, I too suspected a link but then there are so many folk with AF and no hernia and with hernia and no AF so it probably was just a coincidence.
I first had a HH (now on Pantaprazole 40mg daily) and later had Arraythmia which was ablated a year ago! I believe there is a correlation between the two!
I have a hiatus hernia and started with af two weeks after my hernia diagnosis. My doctors say there is a link in my case.
