AF and Hiatus hernia

Has anybody here linked their AF/ectopics etc to GERD and hiatus hernia? I'm wondering if mine is.

You have AF therefore you will have AF. Vagus nerve serves heart and stomach as well as other organs so one can affect the other. Many people find solving AF reduces gastric problems and reducing stomach issues by eating smaller meals and avoiding meat may reduce AF but don't think that is the end of AF.

Yes, absolutely. My EP professor agrees.

Another yes from me. I also have a hiatus hernia - I found that loosing weight so that there was less pressure coming up from my stomach made a big difference to my GERD and hence my AF episodes.

I have also realised that my posture is poor, and causes the pressure inside that makes the palps appear. I'm learning all the time.

Thanks folks.

Definitely. I will get af or atrial runs after eating and as soon as I belch the gas out the problem stops.
