Blood clots and ablations
Thank you @bigleg I have been told I have low magnesium and potassium those defiantly could be a possibility. I appreciate it. I guess I just freak out over little things
Hi Lulu, I got a clot in my leg 15 years ago, if I recall correctly it was a constant deep nagging pain not just bouts of cramp, which I also got. I agree with big leg on Mg, I tested low this year and have had 3 months of Mg supplement (with potassium + other stuff), brand Nutri Ultra Muscleze, suggested by my Naturopath. Seemed to work well re AF, stopped it now and will be retested soon to see if level has gone up from bottom of the acceptable range to mid range. Good luck but take professional advice first we are all so different.
Thank you . trust me I think quote think I'll know if it was one I kind of have health anxiety so any cramp ache or pain in thinking the worst but any advice I love and take into consideration and I appreciate our response and I think a DVT or bld clot would be extremely painful and persistent
Hi Lulu,
Clots are very common after an ablation, but they usually go to the brain rather than legs. Presumably you were on warfarin throughout the procedure? In that case it's unlikely to be a clot.
Other symptoms are a swollen calf and the calf getting warm and red. If you have these then you need to see a doctor promptly. If it's just cramp it'll go away particularly with exercise. Go to this page and use the tool to see if you're at risk:

My hubby had a Clot in his calf, it became swollen and had cramp like pains, also hot to the touch. He didn't mention it for a couple of days as didn't want to worry anybody! Get it checked just to be on the safe side
For me, no blood clots, no re-occurrence of AF, no cramping, nothing at all and only got 5 days to go and that will be the three months after the ablation. I was heading into persistent AF too with not a night passing without an AF episode and that is with taking Amiodarone - didn't help when once it did, 10 years with AF, almost a life sentence. After the ablation procedure I am expected to be on these three drugs for a whole three months... Amiodarone 200mg, Salpraz 40mg and Xarelto 20mg. I guess the real test will be when I come off the drugs - hopefully on the 12th of this month - touch wood. Hope that info helps you or someone else lulu. I must keep up the exercise now that I can actually do it without any drama's, so, so good ;-).
