PAF means paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, just means that you are not in AF all the time just comes and goes, episodes May last days or even weeks but you will eventually go back into NSR. There is also persistent AF - which means it doesn't stop on its own without cardio version or permanent AF when nothing will bring you back into NSR (normal sinus rythm) and you just live with being in AF the whole time. There are some people on this site who don't respond to cardio version and just get used to being in AF.

I wonder if yours is PAF, ie it comes and goes, which means that there is a good chance that treatments will work?
