If you are worried ring the hospital but they do warn you to expect a lot of weird sensations. I had ablation 3 months ago and although no pain I had a lot of irregular beats some of which were af. I am now feeling really well and off meds except warfarin. So hopefully this is post op pain and will go away. However, as I said, ring hospital if you are worried. I really hope it works for you. Hi - I never had lots of pain after my two ablations, but did have a little one evening and was convinced I was having a heart attack. I think we all respond differently afterwards depending on what was carried out at the time. I would say if you are worried ring the ward you were in at the hospital where you had the procedure and ask their advice. Hope you are soon feeling better.

Hi

I had quite a bit of chest pain after my ablation even though EP said I shouldn't. I guess it was sort of irritated. I was cardioverted too after the ablation as they couldn't get me in rhythm so that might have contributed to some soreness etc. I just rested and it went away. It was Christmas and I didn't want to ring hospital and have to go in as it was quite a distance from where I lived and someone would have had to driven etc. I tend not to go in for AF attacks either and prefer to sit things out. That's me though. Everyone is different and I would also advise you to ring the hospital for reassurance especially if it's affecting your sleep. It will get better soon though as it settles down.

Yes, I had quite some discomfort after my ablation and I found it difficult to lie down. Also it was difficult to breathe deeply due to the discomfort so I got a little breathless. I needed quite a bit of work which contributed I think. It went after 4-5 days though so you should feel better soon.

Thanks for all your advice and Mark you are right I do feel a bit better today and I have seen my GP today who assured me it can be quite normal to feel how I have been feeling.

Does anyone know how long you should wait after ablation before taking a long haul flight?
