Woke up during the night in AF and I am supposed to have my bladder operation today. Have been fighting a cold all week and now this. Have taken an extra beta blocker and hope to revert before 2. That is the time I have to be in the hospital. Any other suggestions please! Rienij
The day of my op and I am in AF. - Atrial Fibrillati...
The day of my op and I am in AF.
I hope everything settles down for you xx
Don't worry about it I have had several ops with raging a/f afterwards I woke up with a quiet heart sometimes giving me weeks of NSR
Good luck and Happy New Year
I’m not medically trained but if your AF is reasonable well controlled should it make any difference to having the operation? The hospital must be aware of your AF and will know that it could kick in at any time and if they have not said it will be a problem, then try to relax, which I know is easy to say. Take lots of deep breaths and drink as much water as you can given your bladder condition and hopefully the operation will progress and you will be fine.
The nurse spoke to the amethyst, who said to take another beta blocker which I have done. And yes they are aware of my AF episodes. Just try to relax and hope for the best. Xx
Sending you a double-dose of good wishes for today Rienij. I hope all goes well for you xx
Best wishes 💞
Very best wishes Reinij - practise your breathing and try to relax. 💕

Hi, new member since two days ago. I take 200 mgs. of Flaccanide to combat Afib. Doctor recommended 300 mgs. but over the years 200 (2 100 mg. tablets) has worked well with my 6'3"/200 lb. frame. I Lie down for sometimes 4 hours but mostly withing 2 to 3 hrs. I'm back in sinus. Good luck with your operation.
Prayers and best wishes!
Glad to hear that everything has gone well. I am booked for a colonoscopy this morning. Yesterday I had to drink 2 litres of Moviprep to clear my system along with another litre plus of water to keep me hydrated. I thought I was going to burst! My tummy is making the most plaintiff noises too. Had nothing to eat since 4 o clock yesterday afternoon and the food adverts on the tele keep reminding me how hungry I am.
The joys of getting old!
Good luck today. Xx
That prep is far worse than the colonoscopy hope all is well
Happy New Year to you
Thank you and a Happy New Year to you too. Colonoscopy was up there with the worst things I have ever done. They had to stop because my blood pressure dropped and I ended up having a CT Colonoscopy which made me very tearful. Hope that is all they have planned for me until at least February!
Don't want to compete with the horror story but I will anyway - I was scheduled for colonoscopy too soon after bowel abscess (must be a first NHS didn't make wait long enough) so I was sent home with different prep containing dye and had to come back next day for CT. I hope that didn't happen to you, certainly does make you tearful 😭 I hope nothing too serious is revealed 💜
So very pleased they managed to operate on you. I too am waiting for an operation on my bladder and the anaesthetist won’t even do it under an epidural because of the risk of Afib!
Here’s to 2019.
