Does anyone on Flecainide (100mg twice a day) experience chest pressure around the heart and constipation. Not had either of these symptoms with my other AFib meds which I still take, only since adding flecainide.

Thanks.

Hello mead foot

I was on Flecainide for a month in addition to bisoprolol , the only side effect I had was shortness of breath , but it didn't stop AF attacks so I stopped it

Every body react differently to the same medication and may interact with your other medications

Wish you will feel better soon

Hi Meadfoot. My occasional chest pains etc are much the same on flec. I always have had a tendency to loose stools nausea and bloat before AF was diagnosed and believe I have vagally mediated AF. These symptoms are much better usually on flec so it would follow that it might cause constipation I guess.

Best wishes Wendy B

The chest pains are probably your heart recovering from your arduous AF attack. I'm on Flecanide and make sure I have plenty of fibre and veg and fruit in my diet, being a vegetarian helps. I do hope you are feeling better I don't think I've heard of such a bad attack. Keep well , terjo

I would like add for Terjo input that you consumption of green veg should be limited in case you are on warfarin

And drink fluids as much as you can

Get well soon

Maitha, thank you. I love fluids but perhaps I need to take in more still. On a new anticoag, Rivaoxaban. Be well. Regards Dee.

Thank you Terjo. Yes I agree re my heart having gone through the mill. It is a muscle after all and we all know how a muscle can ache after a simple run for example let alone an onslaught, so your comments fit very well. Will take on board re fibre too. OK with loads of veg daily but may well be low on bulk type fibre. Regards Dee.

Maitha , I'm not on warfarin only asprin. Meadfoot, I'm not on as big a dose as you only 50 mg three times a day. Thank you for writing. Terjo
