Hi all,

Its 5 years since diagnose (Gleason4+5) As you can see from the plot (sorry about the remove label) my PSA level is on the rise again so I had a PET scan which showed a few small spots of activity on the bones. So we need to adjust the medicines to attack this new growth. But the interesting thing is that the latest PSA count was less than predicted (1.5 instead of 1.78), indicating a slowdown in growth. What have I done to deserve this?? Well the only two changes I can think of is doing more exercise, and going back to a stricter diet. So I will continue along that path. Looking forward to at least 5 more years symptom free. I am going on a new round of chemo - Cabazitaxel, and have a bunch of pills related to that (Prednisone, Dexametason., Cetirizin,, Pepcid. I Need to study Cabazitaxel to be familiar with this. I wonder if I need the allergy drugs. Anybody know how common allergic reactions to cabazitaxel are??

Good health and masses of optimism to you all

No Neulasta (or similar)?

Not so far - maybe that will come with the first chemo infusion. I think the Cabazitaxel is jevtana, and we are in the middle of the influensa season so I need to take care

Antihistamines help with the side effects of Neulaasta.

I had a very bad reaction to docetaxel on my first try. I responded super well -and still do - to Abi/Pred. PSA plummeted to zero and stayed there. They felt they didn't want to put me through that again since I was responding so well already. They said this would apply to all taxanes for me. I would think the Cetirizine would be key for me to try again - but no plans to. Best of luck to you! Battle on!

What changes are you making to your diet to make it "stricter?" PS I'm also stage 4 for six years. Nevertheless, healthy enough to see Springsteen in your beautiful country in 2023. Loved the whole experience.

The diet I follow is fairly basic and aims to keep me healthy and maintain a stable weight of 72kg. I am heavy on herbs and spices and low on carbo and sugar Its all about everything in moderation!!
