simple, cut the top off a 1 gallon milk jug - 3” diameter hole, leave the handle in it, this makes it easy and stable to keep in the floor by your bed, simply grab the jug, do it, then place back on the floor. Repeat as needed then empty in the morning!!
This works great and is safer than smashing around during the night and is faster so you get back to sleep quickly!
You can also use a smaller 11/2 quart juice bottle and keep the lid on it- less smell and no spills but hole is smaller so not good for anyone who has not shunken to nothing!
STAY WELL LIVE LARGE BOYS !!!

I have a pee can/bottle - actually have been using one for years for all the reasons listed. I also keep a thick wash cloth next to the can to wrap things up so there is no leakage onto sheets - etc. Also, once a week or so, I put a light bleach solution in the bottle. Also, I travel with smaller version - a large peanut butter jar 16 oz works well
as for hand washing - I learned a long time ago not to pee on my hands ... just sayin😉
this is a topic we’ve discussed a bunch of times … covered everything from orange juice jugs ( just the right size hole ) to sticky external condom caths to a whopping lot.
I’m wheelchair bound by my knee and feet met damaged , pee jugs ….in house …. and while out are a big deal. I have to , uncontrollably, go ….every 40 minutes to an hour and 20 minutes …. Day and night. Pee jugs management is a big deal for me. lol
❤️❤️❤️
You can probably use the page search feature to catch up.
I also have a pee can in the basement, the garage, the back deck incase someone is using the john. I was raised by a grandmother who had several Pot Chambre chamber pots
some were porcelain and were beautifully decorated with painted flowers
when ya gotta go - ya gotta go
I think it is interesting that so many are so queasy about urine ... really?
Yea lotsa things worse than urine …. Gotta say. Rotflol. I e got pee jugs everywhere I congregate in the house. In my truck , on my etrike and on my echair. I carry those black privacy ponchos for privacy if caught someplace inconvenient. ( just move over to an obscure corner ) , I carry a portapotty in my truck too. ( speaking of something worse ) When I’m out on the citywide hike and bike trails on my etrike, I usually wear baggy sweat pants and carry a smaller jug stuffed down my pants leg. I just reach down my waistband and take care of business. I’ve been in a wheelchair several years now from met damage to both my knees and esp feet. I’m never going to have normal walking again. Not gonna let that minuscule flubster bust my daily activities. Rotflol.
I’d love to be able to use those condom catheters , they are a perfect solution for a lot , unfortunately , I don’t have enough peenee left to get one to clamp onto. lol
There are probably many iterations of lol. I use “ lol “ laughing out loud …..and “ rotflol “ rolling on the floor laughing out loud. The first a small laugh, the later a really big laugh. I’ve never seen rofl before, I suspect there are many different ways to use lol tho.
the larger 1 gallon milk jug is very stable. It is the cheap way to not have to get up 2/5 times a night! Sanitation is not an issue as you are NOT going to drink it! Dump every morning into the toilet and repeat. You can add a teaspoon of. Bleach to keep the smell down but who cares st this stage of our lives????!
I used to get up to pee every 45 minutes. Several bladder relaxant drugs did nothing for it. I stopped drinking fluids 3 hours before bed, problem solved. I don't claim or pretend it will work for anyone else.
I use a commercially produced urinal. Spill resistant, perfect size opening, glow in the dark top, built in handle and designed to be used even while lying down. Available online for ten dollars. 20 thousand five star reviews. Just order the screw top and not the snap on one.
Not for everyone, but it's hard to change a habit. Recently my nightime urination was becoming more irritating, but the flow is weak, and the urge seemed out of proportion to the volume. So, I decided to test out the idea of just ignoring it and trying to go back to sleep. Works for me. I get back to sleep for a couple more hours and usually wake up with a more substantial volume. Sometimes it is 'all in your head.'
Not good to hold it in firstly, and secondly, you will have a. Accident at done point do why suffer?? Simple, life milk jug up turn in your side and ore into bottle, then put back beside bed! Repeat as needed!!!
I,too, frequently have urges well out of proportion to the stream….assume now that these are spasms rather than an actual need to fully “go” and do my best to let them pass….sometimes this works….other times it refuses to abate and I have to force urine out……BTW….was just informed of a study out of memorial Sloan Kettering involving acupuncture and nocturnal….dont know if you are anywhere near an MSK installation but if you are it would be worth a look see
I found that if I take two tylenols before bedtime, I pee less frequently. The acetaminophen deadens the nerves that make you want to pee, so you pee every two hours instead of every hour...three times a night instead of 6. Same amount of pee, just less frequent peeing. 16 ounces is about the most.
Also, avoid fluid intake before bedtime.
Furthermore, I once tried ibuprofin, and had to pee every 30 minutes.
Less drugs you have to take the better in your body! Why fight this is my question yo the posts in this, have to ore, just go it and go back yo sleep!!!!
I've done as you said for abou 4 yrs after EBRT and ADT. It helps me no need back back to toilet during nite sleep. I can take the pee using pispot and pouring in to the gallon without wake up so that I can go to sleep back soon. In morning I wash the gallon and the pispot to be used the other nite. I can't imagine if I should wake up at night 4-5 times go to toilet just to pee, it would be making me hard to get sleep again..., Merry X-Mas and happy New Year. GOd bless us
