Go look at the peer reviewed numbers on tall Allen's website.
I didn’t think Axumin scans were used much anymore since the PSMA scans are so much better. I had one in 2020 when I was first diagnosed because it was the best available back then. My doctor says its not really used anymore.
I came in as the Axumin was approved so I had four up through 1/2024. I had my first PSMA in July. Some doctors apparently still use Axumin (instead of FDG PET as TA has mentioned) as the complementary PET scan to PSMA to detect possible PSMA-negative PCa cells. My RO and I are kicking around the issue now.
Thanks. I agree.
Recently heard on a podcast - "a lot of scans for not a lot of gains". Three times in my ten year journey, scanning results, shall I say scans done outside of common practice/guidelines/data, (a lot of scanning some would say), profoundly altered my diagnosis and treatment paths. One of my lessons Iearned, as with pathology findings, is that radiology findings/opinions vary. I tend to ignore the ranking and % accuracy data, as my intent is to do all I can to stay ahead of this beast, even relying on a bit of luck over data.
Excellent comment. Thanks.

Ive read FDG shows stuff neither do such as non-psma pc, neuroendocrine. Forget source.
Yes, they are different techniques and will identify different things.
