Blood test to check liver levels.

I was wondering if the blood tests every two weeks for my husband who is on zytiga will continue while he is on it for the next 18 months? Or stop once his body is acclimated to the medication?

I had blood tests every 2 weeks for 3 months. Then I had the blood tests once a month for 6 months then I moved to every 3 months for the next 15 months.

Started with tests every 2 weeks then monthly. When liver numbers went wonky I had weekly tests for awhile. Then back to monthly.

I have Zoladex 3 months & Nubeqa 60mg day now, so far tests are ok but these drugs are not good for liver or kidneys, keeping in mind the liver regenerates itself but kidneys do not.

bills went to monthly for a couple then every 3 mo. Every doc is different though,so at the next appointment ask him. They sometimes forget what they ordered.

Am in same state...stage IVB, whatever that means.

Doc wants Liver Function Tests every 2 weeks, for 12 weeks.

I have a rising enzyme value which is not good. I suspect as long as it is rising he'll want the test.

Best of luck to your husband.

I was on zytiga for two years and was only tested every 3 months. Nothing more frequent, even at the beginning. My liver/kidney function results were normal at the start and remained so.

My son has always been tested every three months and he takes Zytiga, prednisone and gets one injection. But his psa has remained negligible on these meds so I think it’s okay. If his PSA were to go up, I think it would be more often. As far as I know his blood work is okay too.
