Has anyone tried knocking their PCa on the head, or at least managing it, with a vegan keto diet (alongside clinical and alternative therapies)? After doing extensive research it appears that there are better outcomes for those on a low saturated fat, plant-based diet. I've also read that the keto diet can also support improved outcomes for cancer patients. Unfortunately standard keto relies heavily on meat, counter to the plant-based diet that works for PCa. Has anyone tried a plant-based keto diet with success?
Keto also promotes periods of fasting but as most of you will know, darolutamide needs to be taken with or after food religiously every 12 hours (with a little wiggle room). Has anyone successfully fasted while sticking to their drug schedule?

Tried keto veg (not for cancer). It is doable because it's not like keto = meat, it's very high fat, very low carbs and mid-low proteins. Meat is high in proteins. So if you want to do the vegan version of course you must use a lot of extra virgin olive oil, avocado, nuts, seeds and so on.
I am currently vegan + fish, I used to do intermittent fasting 16:8 but as you said Darolutamide requires food (not a complete meal, two crackers with some peanut butter to slow down their digestion will do). I tend to eat just that in the evening with daro, but for 5 days a months I do a fast mimicking diet (5 days in a row with 400-500 Kcal per day) and the few calories I eat are mostly when I take daro. Ah, at the 3rd day I am in ketosis anyway...or at least my stripes say so!
This is what we've done. Went full plant vegan (no crap vegan foods) for 2 years at diagnosis and then added fish for the last 5 years. No dairy, red meat, poultry etc. My husband feels great on this type of diet. Not sure about it's effect on the cancer- but feeling great and building a good immune system is good for the body!
Ah, consider also one thing, people eating lots of vegetables (quantity and variety, trying to avoid the starchy ones) have a better gut microbiome. Vegans do slightly better in that field, but also someone eating meat who eats also a lot of veggies has the same benefit (from the research I have read). And microbiome is strictly linked to the immune system, someone won a nobel prize few years ago for that discovery.
I tried the vegan keto for a while. I used a finger-stick meter to measure both glucose and ketones, so I could tell when it was working.
I lost a lot of weight. Too much, too fast. The only time in my life my doctors told me I was too skinny.
I switched to a more conventional keto diet, which was easier to stick with and much more likely to get the desired high ketone/glucose ratios. My PSA dropped for 9 months, but then it started its climb again.
My BMI is about 20 so I’m the healthy range and I’d consider myself very healthy apart from the PCa. No diabetes, BP almost always spot on 120/80. No CVD. I have my blood labs done monthly and all shows as normal (or good trajectory while body recovers from chemo).
Your BMI is a low 20…when did you last have a dexa scan? BMI is inferior of course since it provides zero information other than a weight/height number. What are you made of, so to speak? You’re obviously not changing your diet with weight loss in mind.
Fasting in it's true sense is not possible while taking Nubeqa . But maybe limit food intake to a bare minimum at med time only. I am on a plant base diet , I do think it's a bonus for overall health and helps with my inflamation . As for my cancer I feel it may be helping, but with no comparative measure how would I know. Although before going on nubeqa I was doing periodic prolonged fasts that did temporary lower my psa results at time of testing. Fasting for long periods can lead to muscle loss not good for bones. Fine line between starving cancer and starving yourself in my opinion and experiences. Being active in ones own health for me has helped me cope and hope with this along with prayer so that if nothing else may be reason enoough .
Yes. I started a Carnivore diet which is Keto also. I feel a lot better but I put that down to starting Ivermectin at the same time. A lot more energy.
Not necessarily, unless you eat very very fat meat (or add oil, seeds, nuts,…) it cannot be a keto diet. Keto is very high in fat, almost zero carbs and mid-low proteins. But if you use keto stripes to control your ketosis you can keep it checked.
I use a keto breath meter. Cook my meat in lard. Eat a lot of boiled white cabbage fried off in lard and eggs fried in lard. Weight just fell off and easy to stay in the keto zone.
All “ fart “ more like it lol. 325 lbs of hardened ADT induced belly fat and pencil thin ADT atrophied arms and legs ….. not a pretty sight. Rotflol. Still here tho, shaking off the 16 hour a day sleeps and now getting out for QOL fun to celebrate the start of my 7th year. Randy making me do it. lol
Though most of the time I do keto, I have also done carnivore and vegan. I find that they all made me feel good and healthy because I keep from using processed foods regardless of the diet.
However, I have not found any of them to have any impact on the cancer itself. But at least, aside of having cancer, I am healthy.
