my husbands type ii diabetes came back with a vengeance upon starting PC treatment including Tamsulosin but mostly from chemo, adt and prednisone.
Thank you. Sorry to hear that.
Wondering how you can attribute the spike to any one. My own urologist discounted the cause from tamsulin.
I was on a cgm at time for weeks before and once I started tamsulin the glucose was way high for no other reasons and would barely go down during night or when fasting.
BCBS took the Cgm away so I not using currently.
From Doctor Google,
Male patients with comorbid type 2 diabetes were prescribed tamsulosin 0.4 mg daily for management of BPH. Within 1–2 days of initiating tamsulosin, all three patients experienced worsening glycemic control (Table 1). Alternative causes for hyperglycemia were deemed unlikely and subsequently ruled out.
