I'm curious, how often does PSA drop - without any treatment?

Back in June, my PSA was 54

(gleason 8, extracapsular, clean PSMA-pet, no lymph nodes, a "few millimeters into the "pelvic sing").

I have not started any meds yet, nor any other treatment. I will within a few weeks (Orgovyx + Abi)

I asked my doc for a f/u PSA, trying to get a feel for what the cancer is doing, and expecting some number greater than 54...

Yesterday, my PSA was 48...

Does that commonly happen?

Negative PSA velocity?

I always thought that untreated PSA only went up...

Before treatment, there are several sources of PSA (PCa, BPH, prostatitis).

One time, while on Lupron vacation, in 2020, I had my PSA go down from 27 to 24, after intense lycopene intake. It resumed afterward, climbing to 36 before I resumrf Lupron. So your drop might be temporary...just keep testing.
