Hello Friends , Since my recurrance 3 yrs ago I have been under the care of Dr. Elizabeth Henry who works for Loyola Medical center but works at V.A. also. Having Loyala Drs. is a common sight at V.A . Dr. Henry is moving up the ladder at Loyola and she informed me that I will be getting a new MO at V.A. for my appts . He is Dr. Michael S Jacobs . I Googled him and he is a Chief Hemotology-Oncology Fellow . I will meet with him Sept.4th at V.A. for a visit then an hour later I will get my last injection of Eligard capping off 3yrs .

All labs remain good , undetectable . So my Question is : Is a Chief Hematology Fellow up to the challenges of advanced prostate cancer ? Thank You , SemperFi , JJ

Reading your bio you have been bouncing around to different providers and facilities so by now you should be pretty knowledgeable and pretty capable of evaluating how you “feel” with the new guy.

Perhaps you might get more insight to his experience level if you ask him “what a chief fellow is and how he received that title.”

Hear is a laymen’s understanding of how the process works in doctor training. Medical school followed by residency followed by a fellowship if they want to expand their knowledge or add another speciality.
