when to take other meds when on Zytiga and pred.

how many here take their other meds with Zytiga. I’m on several other meds and have occasional nally missed these doses waiting an hour to take them…..is it ok to take other meds with Zytiga…..?

Good question. I take me Abiraterone 2 hours after dinner, and then take my night meds at bedtime. I guess there’s some risk of having some meds increase their potency when taken at the exact same time.

Nothing in my life is on a schedule except taking my abiraterone first thing upon rising….if enough people take all their meds at the same time I would do this…..so far doesn’t look that way.

I take my abiraterone early in morning when I get up to pee. That’s far enough from mealtimes I don’t have to worry about the 2 hour 1 hour thing.

What increases the effect of Abi is fat. I doubt your other meds have enough fat to make a difference.

I’m thinking so as well but was advised by a pharmacist to not combine……another pharmacist said no problem……so I’m taking it to the group. Thanks for the response….perhaps I should take my Abi after early am pee as well.

Hubby starting his Abiraterone and Prednisone this Wed, Eligard 1st injection Thurs. Has been on bicaltamide and stops at 30days. His MO/rads said to take Abirateronte when he gets up to pee in middle of night, then can eat breakfast without any issues.

I take my Zytiga at 5:30am every day. Then my morning meds including the prednisone at 6:30am and my evening meds at 6:30pm. It's not ideal, but it works well enough. I don't like the idea of taking the Zytiga when I get up int he middle of the night to pee because Zytiga has a pretty short chemical half-life. So I prefer that it's taken at about the same time every day.
