I did two extra treatments after a four-year break, and they worked for me! I plan to post about it when I get a minute. I hopefully enhanced my expression with a month of darolutamide before the treatment.
on the eclipse trial from last summer my PSA at the start was 3.3 and then right before the fourth injection was .25 and right afterwards .3 continuing to rise. A PSMA scan showed that two of the three original spine tumors disappeared, but half of one remained. Several more bone mats have popped up since but were treated several times with SBRT.
Our assumption was that the LU – 77 did not kill any micro mets. So would it be useless to re-challenge? My bone marrow never recovered fully and I’m still at 10 on the hemoglobin. I also lost my left kidney along the way on an unrelated issue so I’m wondering about any toxicity issue.
Yes, Lu PSMA treatment could be very toxic to kidneys if you have a low volume cancer according to some German study from 2015 Bonn University. I believe that is why it was not given at Peter McCallum cancer centre in Melbourne Australia for low volume cancer. I am not a doctor just saying what I learnt here. Therefore if your cancer is still low volume maybe better not to do lutetium PSMA treatment. You should also make sure that your SUV Max on the PSMA pet ct scan is high enough.
In order to be an effective treatment option a lutetium PSMA treatment. Your doctors should know more but just make sure that the treatment is a realistic option. Finally it is about your health.
