Thanks Tinkudi. Just got a new series of body scans and the results couldn't be better. Nothing worse and some things even a little better. Thanks to heaven and to great medical care. And the support of my wife.

Also I trust that your Dad is doing well as he navigates through his initial stage therapy!

Happy to know your scans were so good 😊🙏🏻

Dad is doing ok. Only on orgovyx now. Need to start the ARPI soon

Interestingly I recall that there was a period of time in my therapy ramp up between the initiation of ADT and the initiation of the ARPI.

Do you remember how much time ?

According to my notes a little over 2 months! And during that time the testosterone was pushed almost to nothing very quickly. And the PSA dropped in half. I don't know if the time delay was because of medical protocols or because of the work required to get funding. Anyway it worked out.

My MO prescribed Orgovyx and Xtandi at the same time. I told him that I was going to start Xtandi a month later because I wanted to be able to see the side-effects from each drug apart. He agreed and said it was a good idea to take a blood test between both.

Did you have side effects from xtandi. Did you start with the full dose of it ?

I take 4 capsules of 40mg for a total of 160mg which I guess is a full dose.

For the side effects, if I compare to when I was taking only Orgovyx, I am a little more tired, my muscles hurt more, my equilibrium seems to be getting gradually worse, especially if I close my eyes even if for a second or two.

But for me, the side-effects of the combo Orgovyx/Xtandi are still preferable to the combo Lupro/Abiraterone.

Remember that everyone is different and may react differently.

also mustard seed is supposed to help the conversion to Sulforaphane there is all of this talk about broccoli which i love even raw but why not just take a good supplement? of course then you have to worry about whether Sulforaphane is right for people with metastatic PC. i am taking my chances

Are you taking any supplement. The supplements seem to have less quantity of stabilised Sulforaphane per dose compared to the 60 mg used in the study and get very expensive if one does the 60 mg only with supplements.

what i am taking has 150 mg Sulforaphane 300 mg glucoraphanin 100 mg phosphatidylcholine and mustard seed FWIW no idea what it cost i did no pay for it

And re:spencoid2's comment above check out this paper pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/298... Supplementation of the Diet by Exogenous Myrosinase via Mustard Seeds to Increase the Bioavailability of Sulforaphane in Healthy Human Subjects after the Consumption of Cooked Broccoli. Authors conclude that fairly small amount of ground brown mustard seed increases sulphoraphane absorbtion by 4X.

Interesting -- "results suggest that after cutting broccoli florets into small pieces, they should be left for about 90 minutes before cooking" -- by lightly stir frying.

Run a sharp knife over the florets & straight onto Avocado toast,a little salt is my favo, can't taste the broccoli at all 👍

Cooking will reduce it.Broccoli sprouts are a better source and easier to eat. No need to cook them. Far superior in every way including any supplements as well.

You have to break the cells in the plant to get the most sulforaphane. If you freeze, them the freezing process will do this. But there not as nice to eat.

Alternatively just chew them as much as possible.

They're easy to grow, organic, don't have pesticides, are cheap, are delicious, have other nutrients.

For sulforaphane, one of the easiest no-brainer decisions that ever existed. IMO.

Not what you're looking for?
