Alendronic Acid tablets

oncologist has started me on these tablets last 6 months for bone density 70mg once weekly 30 mins before food and to remain upright after taking them anyone else had problem with acid in stomach and very loose stool to a point of passing watered stool .had sample taken and no conclusion read on leaflet not to be taken with prednisone which I take 5mg daily with food just wondered if anyone else suffers with these tablets

I'm on exactly the same tablet, 70 mg once a week, 30 minutes before food. Not on Prednisone though and fortunately I do not get these side effects. I hope you can get it sorted.

They cause me bone and joint pain, I have had to cut down from 70 mg to 35 mg and I'm only able to take them intermittently. After four straight weeks I am in enough pain my body needs a break from them for a week or two. It does not cause any GI issues like you describe though.

I previously used prolea but had a significant rash at 18 months and stopped.
