Skull met has spread

My appointment with my oncologist yesterday made me aware after reviewing the MRI from last week, that the met that was on my skull is now spread into soft matter in my head.

I was set to start a double Chemo treatment yesterday , but it was decided the treatment would do no good, and that quality of life is probably more important at this stage.

I understand there is some radiation treatment that may be possibly available, I believe it is referred to as SBRT. I am waiting for the radiation oncologist to contact me today or tomorrow.

I became metastatic in 2014 and have gone through almost all treatments that were available. It has been a journey with very very little pain and discomfort even with medication‘s that I have experienced. I am still looking for a little time, so any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I do not give up on a battle very easily.

I'm sorry to hear it has spread. Yes, Stereotactic radiation therapy was originally developed for brain lesions 25 years ago.

I am hoping to meet with the radiation therapist and see if it’s a possibility to help slow things down. With my PSA still in the 400s do you think I should continue with other treatments? The plan was to go back on to Docetaxel and carboplatin.

Chemo does wonders in preventing pain.

You should try cabazitaxel chemotherapy it will not cause peripheral neuropathy and it penetrates the blood brain barrier what would be great for you.

That sounds like the plan following EBR on skull met and affected brain tissue in the area. I’m hoping to start radiation sooner than my scheduled appointment on 04/22 if they can squeeze me in.

I wanted to start Cabazitaxel last week since I’ve been off treatment for 3 1/2 weeks.

I stopped Nubeqa and Lynparza on 03/12.

Start cabazitaxel chemotherapy as soon as possible.

You might try heat. See my bio for details how I eliminated skull mets.

That is an very interesting use of heat…it is hard to believe Mets disappeared using this technique.

Yes I know what you mean. However, it has long been known that all cancer cells die at 106 degrees F . If the area around the lymph node or skull metastasis is heated locally to 110 or more degrees, then it is more believable. And with personal experience over many years having eliminated many such metastases, it is even more believable.
