I have written about my unfortunate directed rectalbiopsy that went sepsis landing me in ICU back in July. I understand about 3% of biopsies go septic. I have since had fairly successful RA (I think).
My initial Pet scan saw a shadow in my lung. So my pulmonary Dr. recommended a CT directed lung biopsy. Apparently with a top physician. He inserted the needle and I immediately started violently coughing up blood all over the pretty white CT machine. The last thing i remember were the words, "Pull hm out!" I woke up a day later being intubated. I understand the chances of that happening were about 3%.
Today another Dr. said that the shadow is not likely an aggressive cancer and there are alternatives to get rid of it. She did not recommend cyber knife because of the fiducials that must be placed similar to the biopsy. She had a wait-and-see attitude. Her advice was the title of this post.
