Anyone know of medical oncologists specializing in Pca.I am going to Houston 4/11/24 and I am looking for another opinion.

MO here prescribed Cadodex for 30 days.

RO thinks I should wait.

Scheduled next week to see M.O. with different hospital system.

Do not want to hurt myself by waiting, but want the best option.

Any thoughts?

Thanking everyone in advance

Dr Ana Aparicio is who I use at MD Anderson. Google her, there are a lot of videos of her speaking at a number of conferences. She has also co-authored a number of recent papers. Her staff was great and she was very straight forward yet also very caring.

Thanks! I understand now. You may have a subtype that doesn't express PSMA. So you never had ADT. I assume the salvage IMRT was to your prostate bed only, and not your pelvic lymph nodes.

You can get a NaF(18) PET to look for bone metastases, before starting ADT. It's twice as sensitive as PSMA for bone mets. If negative, assume the cancer is in your pelvic lymph nodes and treat them with abiraterone+ADT+salvage IMRT.

Eleni Efstathiou, formerly at MD Anderson, is now at Houston Methodist - she would be my first choice. At MD Anderson, I would try to see Paul Corn, but anyone on their Genitourinary oncology team is excellent.

Thank you. Lymph nodes removed during prostatectomy. Never had ADT. Just had pet NaF18 this month. Had salvage IMRT w/o adt.

They only remove a sample of lymph nodes - there are many more that may be cancerous. The salvage IMRT you had did not include pelvic LNs, right?
