Rooibos comes in green and red , tea or extract ( used in this study ) . So may be a welcome addition to the usual black or green teas. More interesting are the finding in this study. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/314.... study.

Rooibos tea time another day older
Interesting! Wondering if there's been further study since this was done (2019).
Don't know, but It's not a bad tasting tea I purchased from Etsy. Extract form may be more medicinal .
Found this, ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
I used to drink that 10 years ago, but moved on to numerous other "teas." Maybe I'll rotate it in again.
I like roiboos tea. It has a nice flavor and helps one relax (non-caffeinated) so I sometimes drink it in the evening or other times I want to de-stress. I like the premise of the studies referenced.
Factoid: Tea tastes better if you put it in water........
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

again, everything in moderation… and it’s not an actual tea. It’s a herbal drink .
“Potential side effects
In general, rooibos is very safe and is not associated with any serious side effects.
One 2010 case study found that drinking large amounts of rooibos tea daily was linked to an increase in liver enzymes, which can often indicate a liver problem. However, this was only one complex case (30Trusted Source).
Therefore, enjoying rooibos tea in moderation as part of a balanced diet is unlikely to cause issues for most people.
However, more high quality studies in humans are still needed.”

The study used Green Rooibos since it's highest in the compound "Aspalathin."
