I’m looking forward for my Japanese girlfriend (Kyoto) upcoming visit at the end of the month.

Sounds great .. Kyoto is a beautiful city as well.. practice a little Japanese to impress her.. maybe you are fluent hahaha….

I’ve been attempting learning via Dualingo. It’s slow going due to many other distractions.

How did you end up in Japan?

Yokohama2023 profile image
Yokohama2023 in reply toFash01

My wife is Japanese .. we originally came to care for her parents now just her mom .. yeah that’s not bad .. language is tough you have to want to and have some structure.. takes time .. minna no nihongo is good as they take you you further .. many many you tube teachers that go over each chapter. Plus many Netflix shows you can switch subs I hear that’s beneficial.. I struggle hahaha

I’ve been reading through your posts as well as many of the amazing responses. I had HDR brach with EBRT done at UCLA last April. My MO (Dr. Mark Scholz) also had me on ADT because my gs9 warranted throwing everything including the kitchen sink at it. Fast forward I stopped the adt after 7 months. PSA in Nov 2023 - 0.03 and most recent PSA as of Feb 2024 - 0.02.

The sexual side effects of the ADT have been awful. I’ve been off of it now for about 4 months. Everything is pretty much “barren” done there. Low dose cialis no good. I have supply of viagra which I’m hoping might help when my lady friend gets here next week. She is very understanding and we enjoy intimacy immensely but the inability of actual sex is a real drag as I am very attracted to her!

Dr. Scholz is huge believer in the PSMA. I think PSMA might be available in Honolulu. Hawaiian Airlines has many flights from various airports in Japan so if PSMA were to be a part of your plan this could be an option. The last one I had done in California 2023 cost me I think around $2,500.00.

This particular group of friends are my support team and have been here for me for 7+ years. We do a little themed Christmas party in February because everyone is so busy around the holidays. This year's theme is "flip flop Christmas" Every year we do a different theme. I like to do nice things for this group as they are the reason I am still here. Love these people

Everyone gets flip flops. Last year was hoodie Christmas. Makes shopping super easy and affordable for a couple single moms. This is what I am gifting

Well not all of Arizona is warm and sunny. My goal this week is to dig out my lower garage from last week’s 36” of snow so I can begin my pre Spring work. More on that latter.

spring sprung , here in the Central Valley of California, a couple weeks ago. But … we’ve had several atmospheric river rain events which are continuing and limit outdoors fun.

I’m getting out on the beautiful local hike & bike trails and enjoying- sucking in all the spring splendor I can as soon as the weather permits. I’m in a wheelchair mostly, so I enjoy the H&B trails on my etrike ( it’s allowed to go anyplace a bike/ebike can go ). Bring on Mother Nature, ima ready to go. Yayahahahaya

While cancer free and busy I sometimes usually didn’t .. overlook this but am more aware now than ever since being diagnosed. I’d like to share flower pics with you hopefully I don’t forget due to the ADT ..hahaha..

I experience a lot of physical discomfort’s that interfere considerably with my sleep . I use my cpap machine ( for high quality REM sleep ), Xanax helps a whopping lot and I find hemp derived Delta-8 gummies extremely helpful as well. The further down this stressful road I travel , the more “ good “ sleep becomes more important. For me …. the things I’ve mentioned help me a lot.

❤️❤️❤️

Yokohama2023 profile image
Yokohama2023 in reply toKaliber

nice to get REM sleep any way possible .. I use half of a etizolam .5 mg benzodiazepine drug .. here in Japan they downplay all drugs and cut it in half .. ,it’s is illegal .. oh well. saw some hemp drinks here .. sleepy time tea is awesome .. an onsen and sauna before bed .. maybe exercise.. sleep is getting more difficult..

For me its all about opening eyes and squeezing the most out of each day. The coming of spring is a big event - we have enormous piles of snow from a long hard snowrich winter, and last night there came 10cm more - but it was just slush (heavy to move). But snow clearing has given me loads of meaningful workouts through the winter. I also look forward to the sunny periods where I can measure the effect of the solar collector system I have built - its a nice feeling to be able to turn off the power and know that its the sun that is giving me hot water. Life is good!!

Yokohama2023 profile image
Yokohama2023 in reply toStoneartist

Spring is a big deal here too. Always like integrating an event or task with a workout .. makes something often boring more meaningful. I read getting early sun is important for many reasons .. setting your circadian rhythm and energy .. vitamin D .. 20+ minutes good..

My life long hobby is restoring and maintaining 2 seat roadsters/coupes. I have 7 of them.

After I dig out the lower garage from last weeks 36” of snow I plan to crank up the heat and disturb the boy’s from their winter slumber and do some pre Spring work.

Over the winter I had one set of bumpers rechromed so they need to go back on and I am going to try a new type waxing finish on one of the cars.

My step dad had a 59 TR3 when he started dating my mom. I've been a fan of scooped down sports car doors and that triumph ever since. What a prime example you have there and pristine canvas.

Mgtd profile image
Mgtd in reply toCAMPSOUPS

Yeah those cut doors were a relic of the 50’s English cars. The post war cars featured side curtains rather than windows. In all honesty the TR3 were the best fitting windows.

I can’t stop crying from happiness maybe sadness a bit of both just happy for everyone that shared something personal with me and everyone. Sometimes these online sites seem close but distant .. this site to me has been the best .. maybe clinical … so many amazing people with stories to tell .. I wish that everyone can take a deep breath and enjoy the moment and embrace those close to them .. please share the good and the bad it makes the world of difference . Pictures are amazing would be to nice to have something inspiring hate to spam people with pics here but love to see them! Love to all.

For me, my week will end with playing a prelude at church. A nice piano solo of Nearer My God to Thee for the congregation. I will end the service with When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder, I'll Be There. Music mitigates the mental confusion of the ADT. Both a little testament to my advanced prostate cancer fight.

I am starting a push to finish my fourth adventure historical fiction novel, The Wild West Lies East. I cook the best meals that I can for me and my wife most nights. I go to the gym three or four times a week for good cardio and some weight training. Exercise mitigates the bone loss of the ADT.

Oh, I follow up with two or three doctor's visits a week. Got to keep that sucker third or fourth priority.

Yokohama2023 profile image

Love playing the piano myself .. though my own songs .. don’t read sheet music well .

Each day this week, when I step outside, I am greeted by more daffodils in full bloom, hundreds of them in my yard. Drivers linger at the stop sign to enjoy the sight of undulating lines of bright yellow.

I am looking forward to meeting the two candidates for the organist/choir director position at my church in this next week. As a long time choir member (70 years), I've had lots of experience with different types of conducting.

YH, Thanks for your post.

Enjoyed the comments and you replies. I have a practice of finding a "delight!" during my daily walks. Today it was my 6 years old granddaughter holding my hand, a couple of days ago it was bald eagles swooping and diving each other in a dispute over territory. With spring on its way here in Oregon, USA, I have a surplus of delights to look forward too.

I sleep well with a mix of meditation and mild pot gummies. This week I had some significant pain, and I was restless getting to sleep. Finally, my brain kicked in and said, "you can do this, this is what you practiced for." In the winter after my diagnosis I began practicing for pain relief by laying naked in the snow and using meditation techniques to calm my mind. I have lived longer than predicted, so I was lax with my practice this winter. After I realized that the pain was a familiar acquaintance, i was able to relax into the pain and sleep peacefully.

I hope you can look forward to peaceful sleep in Yokohama

Your post significantly impacted me .. I’m tearing now .. it’s rare to get such a real meaningful post .. we tried to have kids not sure how that would impact me I assume greatly.. the thing is I love kids would have made a great dad .. and I have regrets. Part of it is being slaves of the Bay Area California work ethic that was anti family pressure lack of family support it was difficult… my wife worked for Apple and they were horrible very anti family sure I’ll get flack for this but it’s the truth … I love walking in nature and watching the birds did it today… eagles are majestic and large what a site ! I hope you can manage the pain maybe get a second opinion ..l too do cold dunks for 5-6 minutes several times a day… a sauna might help as well .. don’t have access to gummies but did ..mind control and meditation is very good I need to do that more .. there are some good meditation podcasts that work this one is strange but for some effective … sleepwithmepodcast.com/

Enjoy thanks for sharing .. take care !
