What's different between Xtandi vs NUBEQA® (darolutamide) vs ERLEADA® (apalutamide)

Hello Everyone,

zytiga didn’t work so move to xtandi

After two months, Xtandi did not work, and PSA started going up; I suggested to the doctor to prescribe other medicine ( NUBEQA® (darolutamide) or ERLEADA® (apalutamide) based on this group's recommendations.

Dr keeps telling me NO and tells me it is SAMETHING. Is it true?

DR RO is telling us to try NUBEQA® (darolutamide) or ERLEADA® (apalutamide), and Primary care oncology is saying NO. It is same thing

Anyone has similar experience?

IDK why you say it's "this group's recommendation." Please don't blame me for the bad advice others may give you. No one speaks for the group.

I would ask your doc what he recommends and go from there. There is nothing in your bio

Koco meant to add your treatment info to the Bio section of your account, but it looks like you've already done that. Good job! This forum is a fantastic resource - so much information and real life experiences, and so many willing to kindly share their experience. Keep researching/searching (you might try something like "Rising PSA" - that should bring up many posts where hopefully you can find a discussion(s) that reflect your experience), and asking questions! Sending healing energy your way!

In solidarity,

Sunlight

Based on several conversations with my medical oncologist, I understand the oral drugs you mentioned are not “the same.” In my case, NUBEQA was my MO’s choice. So far, so good. ;-)

These drugs work very similar but they are not "the same". You could try to use Erleada instead but it may not make a difference. If you have not had Abiraterone yet, you could take that drug. This works differently to the ones you mentioned. However, there is a cross-resistance with Xtandi. So if you had Abiraterone already, it is not unusual that Xtandi works just two months. You could get a genetic test now to see if you have a treatable mutation.

You could get Xofigo/Radium 223 against your bone mets. This treatment will work against bone mets but usually the PSA value keeps rising.

there are 5 active lesions and getting SBRT radiation to kill them all in 5 session

And other lesions are inactive or showing no increase activity

If you know an RO which will radiate that, go ahead. Many ROs will not treat when there are more than five mets.

Get on Celebrex, eat blueberries, take zyflamend for prostate, green tea, order 4-mu from Europe, arteminisin , pomegranate juice. Take alongside allopathic treatments . Resveratol and lycopene are good too.

Yes that’s good too, but need to be

taken alongside allopathic therapy. It is included in zyflamend I think.
