Hi All

Hubby prescribed meds Zoladex 10.5mg 3 monthly just had another shot last week together with Xtandi 160mg, adjusted dosage from 160mg to 120mg due to high blood pressure problems arising Xmas Day, he is now taking 10mg Amolodipine which has resulted in a good blood pressure range ( more drugs though, haven't found anything for the brain fog yet), today he noticed his ankles are a little swollen, l read that enzalutimide can cause edema side effects l have no pain, has anyone else experienced this, is there anything to help with yet another side effect.

my husband is on nubeqa and Orgovyx and Amolodopine. 5mg. He has slowly gone from one ankle swell to both ankles to know both calves. (One a bit more than other) but we are now going thru a series of tests blood etc to try to figure this out. He also had radiation .. but radiologist says he does not think the radiation caused this. Our Oncologist says he does not think this a symptom of nubeqa or Orgovyx? He told us ask internist ? On a good note his PSA has dropped to .30 with these two drugs this past year …he is stage 4 with local lympth node involvement as welll

I have heard several folks have had this issue with amlodipine …so we are working towards finding that now.

I was on Amlodipine 5 mg for high blood pressure a few years back. It was stopped after three months because of swollen ankles.

Most probable caused by the amlodipine

Calcium channel blockers are notorious for causing edema.

Discuss other BP meds such ACE inhibitors, ARBs, along with a thiazide diuretic.

On a practical note, have you tried wrapping? Gotta move fluids back to the center of the body.

Due to the SE of fluid retention, my husband was prescribed 40mg Furosemide 1x daily. Though off all ADT treatment he continues to take it daily and it helps....but due to his 2nd recurrence he is also now taking 25mg Spironolactone due to CHF.

Curcumin and magnesium. Both lower blood pressure. I was on amlodipine very briefly. It caused swollen ankles and can cause glaucoma. I got a friend to try it who had high bp and a low heart rate. The heart rate was so low cardiologist was going to do a procedure to correct. He started taking curcumin a few months ago. He told me about a week ago he no longer needs the bp meds and heart rate is normal. Google it. Curcumin and high bp, curcumin and prostate cancer, curcumin and lipids, curcumin and blood sugar levels and curcumin to cleanse the liver. Anyone on adt should also be taking magnesium. 60% of Americans are magnesium deficient yet doctors want you to take calcium for bone strength. Bad idea unless you have a calcium deficient diet. I have been on adt for nearly 2 years and dexa scan showed normal bone mineral density. Liver functions normal. Kidney function 117.5, not a typo. If you need pain meds, Google curcumin and Celebrex to fight prostate cancer. God Bless!

I never had high blood pressure until I started abiraterone and prednisone. I noticed my blood pressure and inflammation was worse when my salt intake was high. I have had a lot of inflammation since starting treatment. I recently cut salt out of my diet and instantly noticed the inflammation leaving my body. It’s was a game changer. I wish I would have done it sooner.
